El Gouna is a world-class kite resort town on Egypt's Red Sea coast — often called 'the Venice of the Red Sea' for its canal system and islands. The local kite spot features butter-flat warm water in a sheltered lagoon, consistent NW thermal winds, and incredibly clear visibility. The flat water and manageable conditions make it one of the best destinations in the world to learn kitesurfing. The town itself is a beautifully maintained resort.
Boat traffic in the lagoon channels. Some areas restricted due to coral. Sun is intense — protection essential.5 km from Hurghada International Airport (HRG). Regular charter flights from Europe. Numerous kite centers operate from the lagoon beach.
