Dakhla Lagoon
Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab, Morocco·Kitesurf
Débutant Plat 15–50 km/h
Dakhla is arguably the best flat-water kite spot in the world. A vast 40 km lagoon sheltered from Atlantic swells by a sand spit, with consistent NNE trade winds blowing almost every day of the year. Knee-deep clear water, no obstacles, warm temperatures — the perfect setting for beginners learning upwind riding and for advanced riders perfecting unhooked tricks and foiling.
Shallow sandy bottom but long swims possible in offshore gusts. Some jellyfish in summer. Strong midday heat — apply sunscreen.Multiple kite camps along the lagoon road south of Dakhla town. Flights to Dakhla Airport from Casablanca or charter from Europe.
